A replica of the sculpture honouring the airmen, who died near the small village of Weiswampach, has been installed in Harbourview Orangihina Park in New Zealand.
Lynn Ashton, the niece of the deceased Officer Whelan, was heavily involved in getting the monument accomplished in Te Atatu.
On 17 September 2010, the memorial has finally been inaugurated
